The CD player is exactly as described: very basic, with no display or unnecessary controls. I use it solely as a transport, and it works flawlessly with my KEF LS50 wireless. If you're in the market for a straightforward CD player, I recommend it. However, as a transport, your experience might vary, as indicated in various reviews.

Adequate sound through analog outputs, but no gapless play and no display. Remote lets you only select tracks up to 1-6. Use as CD transport problematic as optical line out caused timing errors in one of the two DACs used...which resulted in signal dropouts.
Biggest assets are its small footprint, nice design, and brushed metal front panel.
Drive is quiet and responsive to remote.

Outstanding little CD player. It loads and ejects unbelievably fast. Extremely quiet when playing.
The gapless playback doesn't bother me at all. You don't really notice it.
I do wish it showed the song number being played. but it's not a huge deal.
It plays perfectly and that's all I care about.

La livraison a été rapide et sans aucun dommage avec un prix imbattable!
L'appareil fonctionne a merveille, le son est vraiment agréable au delà de nos espérances (analog ouput). Nous avions brancher le tout via le câble optique, pas de son.....nous étions convaincu que l'appareil était défectueux, en essayant un DAC externe de $15 le tout s'est mit a fonctionner, notre problème vient de l'entrée optique de l'amplificateur qui est incapable de décoder le signal numérique qui provient du lecteur Tangent CDII, il s'agit d'un très populaire amplificateur à tubes hybrides tres répandu sur le marché, nous avons contacté le vendeur de cet amplificateur pour savoir si il a un correctif, l'ampli est capable de décoder le signal numérique optique de mon vieux DVD et Blue Ray mais pas du Tangent CDII, quand même très satisfait de mon achat.

The device works perfectly, the sound is really pleasant beyond our expectations (analog ouput). We had connected everything via the optical cable, no sound.....we were convinced that the device was defective, by trying an external DAC of $15 everything started to work, our problem comes from the optical input of the amplifier is unable to decode the digital signal that comes from the Tangent CDII player, this is a very popular hybrid tube amplifier that is very widespread on the market, we have contacted the seller of this amplifier to find out if it has a fix, the amp is able to decode the optical digital signal from my old DVD and Blue Ray but not the Tangent CDII, still very happy with my purchase.

Great sounding yet inexpensive CD transport. The biggest drawback to this unit is out does not offer gapless playback so for songs with no gap in between there is an audible break in the music.
